pork, korean sauce and coconut milk

After being inactive with new recipes for a pretty long time, I'm proudly presenting my new unique recipe : pork and chinese cabbage with korean red pepper sauce and coconut milk !. Well that's fusion I guess. A fusion between Korea and Thailand.  It's bit hot for me, because I can't really eat hot food, but it's yummy indeed. Actually both components produce a new nice flavour, which is very similar to the taste of indonesian "bumbu rujak", a very delicious food from my lovely homeland.

As usual I'll write down the ingredients I used, but you can or maybe you should modify the amount, since I cook a lot without keeping the amounts in my mind. So for this delicious recipe I used about 1 pound of pork, 0.5 pounds chinese cabbage, a half of leek, 3 tbsp korean red pepper paste, 1 tbsp sesame seed, 1 can/cup coconut milk, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and some garlic

This is a picture of the korean red pepper paste I used, you can find it in korean stores or also any other asian store.

First, I added chopped garlic to the frying pan and then I added pork and stirred until the meat turned brown. Meanwhile, I put 3 tbsp of the korean red pepper paste onto a small bowl and add some water into it, so that it became a bit more fluid and easier to mix in the pan. Then I added the chinese cabbage and leek into the frying pan. After that I added the sauces: red sauce, soy sauce and sugar. At last I added the coconut milk, sesame seeds and sesame oil.

The strong taste from the red paste is somehow soften by the coconut milk and sugar, which is good for me, since, like I said, I can't eat too much hot food. If you don't eat pork, you can change it with chicken. I'm sure, chicken will do just great in this recipe. This is a really nice winter meal and now I can sweat in -4°C cold Munich.
