Satay is a famous indonesian food. The name "Satay" or orig. "Sate" ist used in many languages. Satay comes originally from Indonesia, but it's also popular in other south-east asian country, such as malaysia, vietnam, thailand, etc. Satay is normally served with a spicy peanut sauce, and of course, like any other indonesian dishes, with rice ! I like satay a lot, especially because it's grilled. But if you don't have the chance to grill, you can also cook it on a pan, just like the way I make my "coffee satay". I thought, the combination would be a disaster. But after I tried to cook it, it turned out to be really really great ! So, if you also want to try it, here's the recipe. You need these ingredients : (for 4 satays) In a bowl, mix 200 ml hot water into coffee powder, then stir. Add the other ingredients and stir again. Cut the meat into medium pieces. Put the meat in the bowl and mix with the marinade. Wait for about 4 hours. (Better : place in refrigerator overnight). Slide the pieces of meat onto the skewers. Grill the satay or cook on a pan with some butter. Serve with rice and your favourite chili sauce. Yummy !! I think, If I hadn't used honey, the taste would have been a bit bitter because of the coffee.
